Amanda Ridgewell

I started practising yoga in 1984, looking for a form of exercise that would alleviate the discomfort in my lower back and strengthen it.  I initially practised from books, but when I found a teacher it opened up my practise and I was hooked!  I was soon strong enough to take on an allotment and start growing vegetables.


I carried on practising yoga and eventually trained to be an Iyengar teacher with Elizabeth Connolly in Penzance, qualifying in 1993.  I have been teaching and practising around Cornwall since then.  With further training from Richard Ward in Bath, I passed Junior Intermediate Levels I and II in 2004 and 2005.
